The Newport Beach Film Festival Seminar Series have done a really interesting composer panel video called “Lights, Camera, Action — Creating Music for the Action Film (and other genres)”.
The composers in the video are Christophe Beck (Frozen, The Hangover, Edge of Tomorrow), Christopher Young (Spider-Man 3, Entrapment), Pedro Bronfman (Robocop, Élite Squad), Michael Wandmacher (The Punisher, Haunting in Connecticut) and Stephen Endelman (Home of the Brave). The composers offer insight into how the score works in harmony with the film’s visual elements, sound effects, and getting all of the elements to co-exist. Well worth putting on a coffee and watching the whole video (59mins length)
