My Early Christmas Pressie

Postby BazTheHat on Wed Dec 10, 2008 8:16 am

Hi all,

Just wanted to share this with you, as I'm very excited. To cut a long story short, I was watching some generic rubbish TV last night on G.O.L.D. on Sky, when along came an ad for the Trivial Pursuit DVD game with remote control wedges. To which I heard - my music!

I've been selling some of my music on stock music sites for a few months now, making small but regular sales. And this is obviously where one of those sales has ended up. Badly edited to make it fit, to be sure, but still blatantly my music.

I'm now seriously looking at joining the PRS, as I'm sure an ad such as that will be on more channels than backwater satellite channels.

Woohoo!

It's one called the Facts of Life. It's based on the Who Wants to Be a Millionaire theme, at least in dramatic game show music style.

Hey Congrats man!

It's an amazing feeling isnt it? Even despite any poor editing that might have cut short your compositional masterpiece, you still feel great about hearing it on TV!

Quick question though, to everyone here really - Can you register songs with the PRS, that you are selling as stock? I wouldn't have thought so.

I'm a member of the PRS, but I have only ever registered songs with them that I haven't sold as stock.

Any thoughts/insight on this?
